Criminal History Disqualifiers

The Anne Arundel County (AACO) Fire Department shall conduct a Criminal Background Check on all volunteer members. A conviction or pending charges for certain crimes, attempted crimes or criminal offenses may be a dis-qualifier for admission to the AACO Certified Volunteer Database.

Should the background check return with disqualifying criteria, the Arundel Volunteer Fire Dept, upon the discretion of the Chief for Riding members, or President for Administrative members, reserves the right to terminate the offending members membership immediately.
